B’s sister had asked me to do family pictures for a while but we kept having scheduling conflicts. We finally worked it in her schedule (she’s a busy mother of two who recently earned her Masters while working full-time AND still managed to do many amazing home projects). Debbie, you’re an inspiration to me. I adore your family! Thanks for letting me taking your pictures and be part of your family.
Here are the Henrys, what a beautiful and loving family!
She was talking about pictures from this shoot can potentially be used for their Christmas card.
And then it was Mom & Dad private time
Today I have two yummy sessions to share. One is a senior session with Taylor and another one is a family session. Taylor’s mother won my photo session that I donated back in April for a charity event. We got together a few weeks ago to take pictures, and now that I’ve delivered them, I can finally share them here.
Taylor is going to college next year. She is beautiful, confident, and I’ve never seen her without her best accessory, her smile. Seriously, the girl couldn’t stop smiling when I photographed her. She made my job very easy. Thank you for letting me capturing your smile, Taylor. I wish you best of luck in college!
The girls in my family sure love to play dress up and modeling! Here was another chance for me to practice. This time it’s indoor and we worked in very tight space. Big thanks to Jenny’s sister, who did Jenny’s flawless makeup and hair, plus she was providing some very good lighting. I’m thinking of enlisting her help for my next job!
Jenny, you are a beautiful woman and don’t ever forget that!
We took another trip to NYC, our second this summer, to visit B’s friends and my cousins, whom I haven’t seen in a few years. They took us over to Governor’s Island via the ferry for the Jazz Age Lawn Party. It’s a really fun party complete with swing music, lots of dancing and of course, people dressing up in 1920′s costumes.
And then back to reality in Chinatown:

This man was selling bubble blower guns. I like how his expression is so contrasting to the bubbles he was creating.

We walked by this shop and I forgot what it’s called but it’s so awesome!

Our friends S + M invited us to their family’s beach house in Bethany Beach. It is my favorite beach on the Eastern Shore because it’s quiet and clean, unlike crowded Ocean City or Rehoboth Beach. We only got to spend some time on the beach because it rained the whole day. The storm did give the sky a bluish hue, very cool looking.
These boys were playing some game while their parents looked on but I was lucky to get a shot of just them.

This is one photogenic seagull. He struts in front of the camera while sticking out his chest.

What trip to the beach is complete without a visit to the ice cream shop?
Mmm, what flavor should I get?

Our friends S + M
And of course, I have to sneak in a shot of B looking dreamily into the distance. I can’t decide if that’s a sultry pout or he’s just grumpy because I asked him to pose :
My mother is the most generous and giving person that I know. She is strong-willed and smart and funny. I probably don’t show her as much as I should that I appreciate her and I’m very grateful for all the things she’s done for me. She has been through so much and I’m proud to be her daughter. Happy birthday, Mom.
This is a photo of hers taken over 20 years ago. She is still beautiful as ever.
Digging through some old photos, I realized that I have long had an interest in photography. Below are some photos from what I think was my first photo shoot ever (by my definition of it, “going out to take pictures just for the sole purpose of taking them”) And if the little girl in the pictures look familiar, it’s because she has appeared on this blog before. These were taken in 1995, years and a world away.
